Kai Tuttu

To re-create an endearing tradition of yesteryears, a culinary contest named Kai-Tuttu was conducted on 29 April 2022 as a part of  Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM). In this thoroughly appreciated event. 11 teams  participated and showcased various items such as Churmure, beaten rice sweet, Gugani chaat, Chicken Kabab, Kacha Badam, Desi nachos, Suthina Holige, Misal Pav,Goju avalakki, Chirmure, Idli and chutaney, Tapioca & Bonda Soup. Based on the popular votes obtained, the following were declared as prize winners
First prize: Dr. Geetha G. Nair Second Prize: Ms. Sandhya Hombal and Ms. Usha Harini. Third Prize: Dr. Dipayan Pal& Radha Rathod, and Mr. Subodh Gulvady Jury Prize: Dr. S. Angappane and Mr. Subir Roy. Ms. Aishwarya Mungale, a PhD student, coordinated the event. The Director, Prof. B.L.V. Prasad distributed the prizes during the recently held Rashtrotsava celebrations.
