8th Anniversary of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act-2013
To commemorate the 8th anniversary of "Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013", and to bring awareness among the community about the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, two special lectures were arranged on 9th December 2021 through online mode. Prior to the lectures, a survey was conducted to know how aware the CeNSians are about Act. The feedback received from the survey was passed on to the speakers so that they could address the community accordingly to bring out the nuances of the Act itself.
Dr Swati Dyahadroy, Assistant Professor, Women's Studies Centre, University of Pune, gave the first talk titled “Understanding Gender: Issues and Challenges”. Following this Dr Durba Sengupta, Senior Scientist, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune spoke about “Women Researchers in Indian Academia”. At the end of each talk question and answer, sessions were conducted during which time the audience had the opportunity to clarify several aspects of the act and related topics.
