Typically, reactive metals such as copper are often coated with polymer to prevent surface oxidation and weathering. Among the advanced coating materials, graphene is promising. It is an extremely thin, two-dimensional layer and impermeable to molecules. In the present invention, the copper surface has been coated with graphene produced via thermal decomposition of a natural hydrocarbon.
