DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The National Science Day (NSD) was celebrated on February 28, 2020. This Na
 tion-wide event commemorating the announcement by Sir C V Raman of the scie
 ntific effect that now bears his name, had the theme of "Women in Science" 
 suggested by DST. The show put up at CeNS, coordinated by Dr. D.S Shankar R
 ao and Dr. S. Krishna Prasad, scientists and mentored by Prof. G.U. Kulkarn
 i, Director-in-Charge, took special care to see that the event lives upto t
 he theme. To impress upon the young minds that with right determination and
  proper effort women can overcome challenges and come up in science, the Ce
 ntre invited girl students from BEL high school (CBSE stream). The speaker,
  Prof. Ranjini Bandyopadhyay, an acclaimed woman scientist from the Raman R
 esearch Institute, Bengaluru gave a brilliant lecture on "How Materials Flo
 w" while constantly encouring the students to interact. This was followed b
 y two videos, one on Women Scientists who have made remarkable achievements
  in their field and are worth emulating, and another on the life and works 
 of Sir C.V. Raman, and completed by a live tabletop demonstration of the Ra
 man effect. The visiting students were led through demonstration of the sci
 ence experiments at our Learn it Through Experiments (LiTE) Gallery and con
